Don't worry...the blog is not dead
I just haven't q'ued in a few weeks so not much to post. I am going to Lafayette this weekend for easter so I wont be cooking this weekend either. Well the next weekend is my anniversary and as much as I think cooking 8 racks, a few buts, 4 chickens, and a brisket is an excellent way to show my wife how much I love her we are going away for a night. Lets see, the weekend after that is one my aunts 90th birthday parties, but thats on Saturday...so that leaves Sunday. But hey, we got all summer.

yeah, he is actually a chimney sweep
spotted at the corner store. he caused quite a scene as he showed us that the ringtone on his phone was from mary poppins. he didnt have a cockney accent. it somewhat lessened the sting of putting 70 bucks worth of dinosaur bones in my truck.

Best Band Ever..now every Thursday at Buddy's Place on Burnet
My favorite band, the Burnett Jones Band is now playing every Thursday at Buddy's Place on Burnet. Why do I go see them every chance I get, well their "mission statement" is more true to me now then ever:
This thing called "Burnett Jones" By: Wade Burnett
Life is short. You know this, but do you really think about it and appreciate life every day like you should? Some can answer yes, but for most of us the answer is no. It is sad how sheltered we are in our own little worlds, and how easily we get distracted by trivial things in our lives that really don't mean crap. They don't mean anything when you think about just being alive and what a gift that is. The truth is…we really don't have time to be worrying about trivial things because…life is short.
So what does that have to do with music or Burnett Jones?
Keep reading and I will tell you.
This thing we have created called "Burnett Jones" is nothing short of spectacular. When I say "we" I mean everyone that has been a part of Burnett Jones from the beginning… everyone in the band… everyone that has supported the band… and everyone that has been to a show, forgotten all about their troubles for one night and partied together like there was no tomorwhat i want....no need..The Stoker
Its a pit control system that not only regulates your pit temperature through a digital system but also can be accessed and controlled through the internet. With a wireless adaptor plugged into the ethernet port there is the possibility of controlling my smoker from my smart phone while I sit 5 feet away or 5,000 miles away. All for only $200. Yes, this must be mine. Add a wireless camera...oh man

dig camera MIA, so take my word for it
The FNP team got together Friday night for some chicken wings and ribs. We polished off around 30 wings and 2 racks of baby backs. This was our imitation of ribs from the famous Rendezvous in Memphis. Our only team member who has been to said establishment said we missed the mark. The ribs were more than eatable as we finished em off in a hurry. We couldn't find the camera, but even if we had I don't think we had time for pics. Special thanks go out to:
coors original
miller lite
wild turkey
marlboro lights
tito's
sidecar's
Rendezvous Rub
FNP BBQ angels making a beer / cig run
so much fun was had by all that everyone decided to stay at the FNP northern headquarters for the evening
